Cleburne is advancing to Saturday’s Region 2-5A High School Swim finals in nine events, relay and individual, following qualifying performances in prelims held today at the Mansfield ISD Natatorium.
Mackenzy Mathson, Morgen Mathson, KaiLi Hall and Kambree Coates, who were District Champions in the 400 freestyle relay, were among the fastest teams in the water Friday to move on to the finals. They are also advancing in the 200 medley relay.
On the boys side, the 200 medley relay team of Matthew Harmon, Matthew Cain, Jaxon Coates and Ryan Head will be back on Saturday. They also qualified for finals in the 200 freestyle relay.
In girls individual events, Mackenzy Mathson will be swimming Saturday in the 100 butterfly, and qualified for finals in the 100 breaststroke, as did Hall. Kambree Coates will be competing in the 500 freestyle.
Harmon is a finalist in the 100 breaststroke and Jaxon Coates will be competing in the 100 butterfly.
The swimming finals are scheduled to begin at 9 AM.
