6th-8th Accelerated Instruction Summer Learning Camps

By Invitation Only - Current 6th through 8th grade CISD students who meet qualifying criteria.  The purpose of the 6th-8th grade Accelerated Instruction Summer Learning Camp is to provide extended support and bridge gaps in learning.  Accelerated Instruction Summer Learning Camps have a focus on the CISD Safety Net Standards for each grade level and content area.
 
Dates: Monday, June 3 - Friday, June 28
 
Time: 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
**Breakfast and lunch will be provided through the CISD Summer Meal program. 
 
 
Special Program Structure Information: The 6th-8th Accelerated Instruction Summer Learning Camps will take a "Blended Instructional" approach.  This means that students will be getting instruction in class with teachers as well as completing online learning modules at home through Canvas. 
 
M/W/F - Students will work on teacher created learning modules from home on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays (unless requested to report to campus for extra help by their teacher).  They will be required to log in to Canvas and complete their online modules during the Summer Learning Camp hours of 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  Teachers will be on campus in classrooms during online module days and students are always welcome to attend class on campus to complete the modules with teacher support. 
 
T/TH - All students will be required to attend in class lessons with their teachers every Tuesday and Thursday during the duration of the summer learning program.  
 
Location: Wheat Middle School
 
Buses:  Transportation will be available to qualifying students.  Your child must be registered and pre-approved by the Transportation Department before they may ride a bus.  Please fill out this ONLINE TRANSPORTATION REQUEST FORM.  You will be contacted directly by the CISD Transportation Department regarding your qualification status.  Please refer all transportation questions directly to the Transportation Department at 817-202-2190.
