Dr. Kyle Heath is honored to be starting his 29th year in public education as an instructional leader for the Cleburne Independent School District. He was hired by the CISD Board of Trustees on July 25, 2014.
Under Dr. Heath’s leadership:
*Cleburne ISD has been named to the National Advanced Placement Honor Roll in both 2014 and 2015;
*Cleburne ISD teachers have written and posted online a vertically aligned K-12 curriculum guide;
*The community approved a $130 million bond in May, 2016 to construct a new comprehensive high school, renovate the current high school into a Career Technology Center, relocate TEAM School to their own facility next to the Career Center, provide upgrades for the District’s two oldest elementary campuses, Cooke and Coleman, update instructional classroom technology district-wide and provide Chromebooks to every student in grades 6-12 beginning in January 2017.
During the 2016–2017 school year, teachers will be developing Safety Net Standards for each core subject in all grade levels. These essential standards will clearly identify for the student, and parent, the specific skills each student must learn during the school year.
Dr. Heath came to Cleburne after spending 5 years on the administrative staff of Mansfield ISD as both an area superintendent, overseeing one-third of the district’s campuses, and as an associate superintendent.
He began his career in education in 1987 as a social studies teacher and coach at Perry High School in Perry, Oklahoma.
Dr. Heath’s first campus administrative position came in 2000 as an assistant principal at Edmond Memorial High School in Edmond, Oklahoma, which was honored with the Department of Education Blue Ribbon School Award of Excellence in 2001-02.
In 2003, he was promoted to the position of principal at the campus. During his tenure, Memorial HS ranked first among Oklahoma ACT averages in 2005, was first in the State in the Annual Performance Index in 2005, 2006 and 2008 in the large school division, and in his last six years as principal, a total of 59 MHS students were recognized as National Merit Scholarship finalists.
Dr. Heath received his Ed.D. in administrative leadership for teaching and learning in 2013 from Walden University. He has a Master’s Degree in Secondary Administration from the University of Central Oklahoma. His Bachelor's of Science Degree in Education is from Oklahoma State University.
Dr. Heath has been married for 29 years to Georgianne and have 2 daughters, Kylie and Michaela.
